This article will show you how to setup secure (SSL encrypted) email connections to your email account when using the webmail area or any email program or email device. A secure email connection encrypts the emails you send and receive as they are transmitted across the internet.
Secure webmail connection:
On the webmail login screen, click the "Use Secure Connection" link. This will take you to the https:// version of the webmail login. Enter your full email address as the username, and your normal password, then login. Your email session will be encrypted.
Secure POP3, IMAP, and SMTP connections:
(using Outlook, iPhone, ect.)
Use the following settings in your email program or device to setup a secure connection.
** Incoming mail server: mail.unionactive.com or mail.unions-america.com
In the advanced settings for your incoming mail server, enable the option to use SSL. For IMAP use port 993, for POP3 use port 995.
** Outgoing mail server: mail.unionactive.com or mail.unions-america.com
In the advanced settings for your outgoing mail server, enable the option to use TLS on port 587.
** If your domain email runs on the Imail servers, use mail.unions-america.com as the incoming and outgoing mail server. If your domain email runs on the WorldClient servers use mail.unionactive.com instead. If you are not sure which servers your domain email runs on, go to the webmail login for your domain, and look at the title above the login box.
For specific information on changing the settings in your email program or device, go to the admin area > support tab in your site and click the Email Setup Information link, then follow the directions in the setup guides on that page, but use server information listed in this article.
